Teen rescued from wrecked car

A teen who was trapped inside a wrecked car for more than two hours has been rescued.

Emergency services were called to Newton Road in Wetherill Park about 9.30am on Sunday after the car collided with a power pole.

Fire and Rescue NSW managed to remove the entire side of the Lexus with specialist equipment in order to access the 17-year-old male.

After a few hours, crews managed to remove the teen — who was still conscious and breathing — from the car.

He was treated by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital with leg and ankle injuries.
