A mystery caller may hold the key to finding the body of missing Melbourne mum Ju ‘Kelly’ Zhang.
The 33-year-old was last seen at her home in Winchester Ave in Epping about 5.30pm on February 1 wearing a pink nightgown and possibly pink slippers.
Missing persons squad detectives have alleged she was murdered but are yet to locate her body.
Ms Zhang’s boyfriend, Joon Seong Tan, was last week charged with one count of murder after being arrested at Melbourne Airport.
Detectives are appealing for a person who provided information to Crime Stoppers on the whereabouts of Ms Zhang to make contact again.
The person called Crime Stoppers anonymously on Thursday morning and provided details of her location.
Police have urged the person to call back and provide further information or to make contact with detectives directly.
Detectives searched thick scrub along the Darebin Creek Reserve near Seddon Reserve in Ivanhoe West last week for clues in relation to Ms Zhang’s suspicious disappearance but didn’t find her body.
Mr Tan, 35, appeared in court on February 12 where it was revealed detectives were trawling through 3500 hours of CCTV footage in relation to the case.
Prosecutors requested extra time to prepare the brief of evidence due to the extensive CCTV footage.
There were also texts that needed to be translated from Mandarin.
Police allege Ms Zhang was killed on the day she went missing by Mr Tan, charge sheets show.
The 35-year-old remains in custody and is expected to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court again in July.
Police said the investigation into Ms Zhang’s disappearance was ongoing.
Anyone with information has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
