Channel 7 star Larry Emdur frontrunner to replace Andrew O’Keefe on The Chase

Channel 7 has decided who will be the next host of The Chase Australia, it’s been claimed.

According to TV Blackbox, Larry Emdur is set to take over from Andrew O’Keefe as host of the popular game show.

O’Keefe, who was recently arrested and charged over an alleged domestic assault on his partner, was dumped by Channel 7 at the end of 2020.

The TV network has been looking for a replacement for O’Keefe ever since, and it now appears the search is over.

TV Blackbox claims that Channel 7 sources are “adamant” that Emdur has landed the gig.

The site claims Emdur, who hosts The Morning Show, was close to not renewing his contract with Channel 7 at the end of last year and was offered The Chase hosting role in a bid to keep him at the network.

Emdur has plenty of experience hosting game shows. He hosted The Price Is Right from 1993-1998 and 2003-2005. He also hosted Wheel Of Fortune on Channel 7 in 2006.

Other personalities rumoured to be in the running for The Chase gig are Sunrise weather presenter Sam Mac, Daniel MacPherson and Grant Denyer.
