Let’s be honest – we would be chuffed if our bosses gave us a box of chocolates or a gift voucher as a Christmas treat.
But for Australian fashion designer Abby Kheir, there’s no reason not to treat her employees to a taste of the high life all-year round.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the owner of Abyss by Abby explained how she doesn’t mind splashing out on her staff members so they all feel valued.
Abby, who has dressed the likes of Khloe Kardashian and Sofia Richie, said: “It’s really important to me that my staff are happy at work and feel valued, included and appreciated.
“I work very closely with them and I respect and admire each one of them immensely.”
Not only will Abby often send her staff on luxury spa days, but she’ll often buy them designer handbags and shoes.
For her personal assistant’s recent birthday, Abby threw her a lavish dinner party while they were on a work trip in LA, bought her her first ever designer handbag and shoes and made sure she travelled first class.
As the assistant’s family had never celebrated her special day before, Abby said: “I intend to make up for all the birthdays she missed.”
What’s more, Abby believes that her team are “more creative, more focused, more customer oriented and more innovative” as a result of her management style.
Needless to say, the businesswoman, who has been dubbed the “world’s best boss” by her team, has quite an impressive designer handbag collection herself.
Abby claims her 50 designer handbags are worth $500,000 and she is currently on the hunt for a two-of-a-kind Hermes bag worth another half a million dollars.
She said: “My shopper is on the hunt now. There’s a time for everything but I am determined to have it.”
On one occasion, Abby even travelled to London from Australian to find a Birkin bag in the colour she wanted.
Unsurprisingly, Abby swaps her bag every day and says her current “go-to” is her $15,000 Dior snakeskin bag.
