Our values

People

Those affected by leukodystrophies are aware of the ALDS and receive support and assistance from us.

Members

We value the support and generosity of all ALDS members, including those who are not directly affected by leukodystrophy. Their membership is vital for the survival of the group.

General public

We inform the public of our aims and of the needs of sufferers, and we ask the public for financial support.

Health professionals

We educate health professionals about the social and emotional needs of leukodystrophy sufferers and their families.

Financial responsibility

We are accountable for our actions and their results and we are prudent in the use of the resources entrusted to us.

Commitment to education

We are committed to providing continuing education to health professionals, the general public and those affected by leukodystrophy. As a group, we must keep up-to-date with the latest research and developments to meet our vision.

Growth

We have a commitment to increasing our membership base, expanding our services nationally, obtaining relevant resources, and becoming affiliated with larger organisations.
